The Shuriken team continues to grow steadily. We have a new team member we are excited and happy to introduce you to – Janelle Siguenza.
Shuriken Digital division team has a new content manager! Let’s meet her…
The beginning of an exciting career
Janelle’s career started back in Manila, her hometown. She managed social media accounts for local lifestyle brands for a year.
Then, she decided to travel. She visited Cambodia and Vietnam but eventually ended up settling in an adventurous surf-town in the south of the Philippines, called Siargao.
Travelling was fun! It always is, right? But eventually, reality catches up with you. So, Janelle started looking for online jobs in order to be able to continue calling this island her home. She managed to find short gigs doing social media branding projects.
Soon enough, Janelle found a full-time job with a Mergers and Acquisitions expert based in the United States. Her responsibilities included managing social media accounts and developing his online marketing.

Janelle Siguenza is the perfect fit for our Shuriken team. With her vast experience in managing and developing social media content, we are excited to see how her knowledge and experience is going to bring value to our team.
As part of the Digital Marketing division of Shuriken Consulting, Janelle’s responsibility is keeping the company visible to its audience.
This is how Janelle understands her job responsibility, “My job is to show people why Shuriken is the only weapon of choice when it comes to their business. How? By showing the great knowledge and expertise this company has through the amazing content our team is consistently providing.”
Told you she’s the perfect fit for our team.
Why does she love her job?
Even if she is not physically in the same office as her teammates every day, the team energy can be felt from afar.
Janelle says, “what I love the most about working for Shuriken is the amazing energy and excitement people have in this company.”
She finds it accomplishing to be a part of the team, “even though I work remotely from the team, I can sense their easygoing and funny style through our group chats.” She also adds, “it’s fulfilling to be among people who makes you feel good just by their interaction with each other.”
[ctt template=”7″ link=”ey0NU” via=”yes” ]“Shuriken truly is a family that I only hope to meet one day”[/ctt] Janelle concludes.
Asked what would be the top piece of advice she would give to a client, her answer was, “although content is very important, engagement brings you further online.”
Janelle’s hobbies…
One of Janelle’s biggest hobbies is surfing.
What she loved most about surfing is the feeling of it, “the feeling of being in the water while the hot sun is kissing your skin.” There’s also the exhilarating feeling, “of catching waves. It makes you realize what life is all about.”
Janelle loves how much surfing can relate to life. The hard work, the pain, the exhilarations and the feeling of achievement, it can all be found in both surfing and in life.
This is how she explains it, “you understand that even if you experience hundreds of wipeouts and insane amount of reef cuts, all that pain will vanish when you’re finally riding that long beautiful wave you’ve been waiting and fighting for. Then you get to tell yourself, it was all worth it!”
What most people don’t know about her…
Is that Janelle is an art enthusiast. She is especially fascinated by modern art.
“I used to study and research about the modern art endlessly – from pointillism to cubism, art nouveau to bauhaus, dadaism to pop art,” she explains.
Janelle loves to learn about, “all styles, mediums and influences these modern artists had in creating their artworks.” She explains, “it always intrigues me how they’re able to depict life and how they can express their emotions by turning obsolete objects into poignant masterpieces.”
The reason she is fascinated by modern art is because she understands the artist’s perspective, “the courage an artist has to show his individualism is the most profound way of showing freedom, I believe.” She concludes that, “when it comes to life, it’s essential not to hide your madness.”
