We are excited to tell you about our recent Shuriken Team Day. It was amazing!
Our team event was held on 23rd May at Sydney Bridge Climb. The day started with a seminar where expert speakers (our super professional colleagues and a guest speaker) shared their valuable experience on business values and digital marketing best practice.
Shuriken’s top speakers entertained and educated
Fiona Soutter, the Director of Shuriken Digital, broke the ice with a comprehensive talk on best practices when it comes to optimising your LinkedIn profile.
LinkedIn can be an important tool for driving business, leads and sales. Being a professional social networking platform, here is where big companies and brands from your field hang out.
Knowing how to create a profile that reflects your and your business’ reputation can be an incredibly valuable resource!
Colin Chodos spoke about the importance of being a supportive leader. He is the Director of Corporate Communications Strategies and Social Media Temps. He is also a widely recognised speaker and mentor at Telstra Business Awards.
One of the key takeaways from his talk was, “applaud your team’s strengths and support their weaknesses.” His talk ended with a few wise words and best practices on reputation management.
Colin also talked about the importance of reputation for business success. He asked a thought provoking question…. “How can personal and business reputation influence business success?”
Colin then went ahead and provided practical steps and examples on how to improve our reputation.
The highlight of our event was from our CEO, Andrew Jeffers, who spoke about the importance of paradigm shift. Such a powerful and inspirational talk!
Andrew highlighted that businesses don’t sell services anymore, they sell peace of mind. He challenged our entire team to change our perspective!
After the seminar, our team had an adventurous experience climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This amazing day ended with a breathtaking view of the city and a fantastic sunset.
Pretty close to perfection, right?
Shuriken Team Day was a wonderful opportunity to build our team’s spirit, grow together professionally and share our common values and visions for Shuriken.
The feedback we received from our 24 team participants was very encouraging! We might repeat the experience soon.
What did the Shuriken team say about their fun day?
After the event, our colleagues sent us lots of messages like the one below…
“Today was fantastic! I had two key takeaways from Andrew’s talk. One was about the fact that we sell peace of mind – not services. The other one was about when clients complain they are ‘paying more tax than last year’- If they are making more money than last year, they should be pleased, not cranky.”
If there is one piece of advice we were to give you after this experience, that would be: organise at least one team building event a year with your team. You will see the results!
